What does the company do?
Kraft Foods Inc. (Kraft) through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the manufacture and sale of packaged food products, including snacks, beverages, cheese, convenient meals and various packaged grocery products. Kraft operates in two commercial units: Kraft North America and Kraft International. Kraft North America operates in the United States and Canada, and manages its operations principally by product category, while Kraft International Commercial manages its operations by geographic region. Kraft has operations in 70 countries and sells its products in more than 150 countries. On November 30, 2007, the Company acquired the global biscuit business of Groupe Danone S.A. During the year ended December 31, 2007, Altria Group, Inc. spun off its remaining interest (89%) in Kraft to AltriaGÇÖs stockholders. During 2007, the Company completed the sale of its hot cereal assets, sugar confectionery assets in Romania and flavored water and juice brand assets, and all the related trademarks.
